House Washing in Shaver Lake
Shaver Lake's trusted house washing crew
Most Valley homes are stucco. Up at Shaver Lake, you’re more likely to see wood siding, painted trim, deep eaves and decks wrapped around the house. That changes how a home should be washed. High pressure can splinter wood, strip paint and force water behind boards and into window frames. Meanwhile the forest supplies a steady load of grime. Shaded walls on the north side of a cabin can stay damp for weeks after the snow melts, and that’s exactly where green and black mildew and algae take hold.
Soft washing deals with that grime without the force. We pre-rinse plants, make sure windows and doors are closed, and apply a cleaning solution at low pressure to the walls, eaves, soffits and trim. It gets time to loosen dirt and break down mildew and algae before we rinse everything from top to bottom. Cobwebs and wasp nests come down from the eaves along the way, and the yellow film of spring pine pollen washes off with the rest. Sap spots and rust stains are a different kind of mark and may not come out with a wash, so we’ll point out anything we can’t promise.
The exterior season at elevation is short. Late spring through early fall gives the most reliable weather, and many owners like a wash in early summer after the pollen settles, so the cabin looks fresh for the busy months. We hook up to an outdoor spigot, so let us know if your water is shut off for winter or the spigot is hard to find. You don’t have to be there while we work. Ducky’s is a licensed, insured crew from Fresno and Clovis, estimates are free, and we’ll come back to make right anything you’re not happy with.

Why Shaver Lake chooses Ducky's
Built for Shaver Lake properties
Gentle on wood siding
Low pressure cleans painted wood, trim and eaves without splintering boards or pushing water behind the siding.
Shaded, damp walls
North-facing walls under tall pines stay damp after snowmelt. Soft washing breaks down the mildew and algae that grow there.
Cobwebs and wasp nests
Deep cabin eaves collect webs and nests all summer. We clear them as part of every wash.
Spigot and access
We connect to your outdoor spigot. If the water is off for winter, tell us when you book so we can plan ahead.
Our process
How our house washing works
Walk the property and prep
We look for delicate areas, make sure windows and doors are closed, cover outlets and fixtures where needed, and move small items away from the walls. Plants and landscaping get a thorough pre-rinse.
Apply the cleaning solution
Using low pressure, we apply a cleaning solution to the walls, eaves and trim. It loosens dirt, cobwebs and organic growth without the force that can damage stucco or paint.
Let it dwell
The solution is given time to work so it can break down grime at the source. We keep plants wet and watch the surface so the solution doesn’t dry on it during the dwell.
Rinse and final check
Everything is rinsed thoroughly from top to bottom, including landscaping, windows and walkways. We walk around the house to check for missed spots and touch up any areas that need it.

FAQ
House Washing in Shaver Lake FAQs
Don’t see your question? Give us a call — we’re happy to help.
Is soft washing safe for wood siding on my cabin?
Yes. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution instead of force, so it cleans painted wood, trim and eaves without splintering boards or driving water behind the siding. That’s why we use it instead of a high-pressure wand on Shaver Lake homes.
Will a wash remove the green growth on the shady side of my house?
Usually, yes. The green and black film on shaded walls is typically mildew or algae, and soft washing is designed to break it down. Growth can return over time where walls stay damp, so trimming branches back and letting more sun reach that side helps the results last.
How often should a Shaver Lake home be washed?
Once a year works for many cabins, often in early summer after pine pollen season. Homes deep in the trees, or with walls that stay shaded and damp, may need it more often. We can look at your home and suggest a schedule that fits how you use it.
Can you wash my cabin if I'm not there?
Yes. Exterior washing doesn’t require anyone on site, as long as we can reach the property and use a working outdoor spigot. Please make sure windows and doors are closed before the visit, and let us know if the water is shut off or the spigot is hard to reach.
